Impulse download (object desktop and attached progs) deadly slow!

why is so slow downloading via impulse application? anyone knows why?

Are you turning off your anti-virus and spyware apps while downloading? This will often speed things up and will help prevent botched downloads.

unbelievable.... you have reason but it is crazy to stop an antivirus for dowloading something.... >:(

Actually ,quite a few software companies recommend you doing so while downloading and/or installing updates..

Another point: You never need worry about anything coming from Stardock,you won't find any nasties in your downloads through Impulse or any other legitimate source.

If you have Avira or BitDefender installed these can often account for very slow downloads in Impulse. It usually comes down to the web filtering portions of these programs. You can disable just that part and leave the rest of the protection on and it should help.
