Mouse pointer just wont show up!! Help please!!!

IVe tried everything i could think of, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled game, changed resolution, made SoaSE windowed, EVERYTHING! And it all comes to the same result, me having no pointer in game, in windowed mode, when im outside of the game I can see it but as soon as I go inside the window, it dissapears. I recently had a virus that fried my OS so I had to reformat and reinstall windows, and before I did that it played just fine, pointer and all, what is going on?!?

ANY help woudl be very appreciated!

Thanks!

Maybe the pointer icon in the Sins folder got corrupted? Or maybe the cursor requires some files form the OS, as a victim of the infamous "all fonts deleted" virus, it wouldn't surprise me at all if something similar caused your cursor support to disappear.

it could be the video driver. it might be a good idea to try the latest version driver for your video card

GoaFan77, do you know what folder the pointer icon is in?

and Harpo99999, I tried your suggestion and it says its up to date.

the pointer icon is in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Textures and is called Cursor.tga.

the reason I suggested the video driver is that I had this happen to me once and I updated the drivers for my video card and re-booted and the cursor was back.

it might be related to the infamous graphics glitches where graphics disappear and then appear after a wait.
