Crazy Minion Oak Build

Only tried this in two games so far, lost one, won one.
I had a terrible team in the first game though.

I totally ripped the other team's towers apart and got quite a few kills too in both games.

This is not a build for beginners.
It's hard to stay alive, it's hard to manage all your minions!

Skills:
1: Raise Dead Ward I
2: Divine Justice I
3: Morale I
4: Raise Dead Ward II
5: Surge of Faith I
6: Morale II
7: Raise Dead Ward III
8: Morale III
9: save point
10: Surge of Faith II + Raise Dead Ward IIII or Morale IIII
11: Raise Dead Ward IIII or Morale IIII

Pick the other skills yourself, depends on how the game developed imo.

Why these skills?
It's a minion build, what do you expect?
Raise Dead Ward gets you more flags and spirits.
Divine Justice keeps your creeps alive, don't really know how good this is.
Morale makes your minions do more damage and gives them a little more health.
Surge of Faith makes your minions stronger and faster for a few seconds + it gives you AOE dmg.

I'm not sure how good this build is yet, you can replace a lot of skills by other skills as you please.

Items:
1: Monk Idol
2: Siege Demolisher Idol
3: Minotaur High King Idol
4: Bishop Idol
5: Gladiator Gloves
6: Hauberk of Life
7: Vlemish Faceguards
8: Gloves of Fell-Darkur
9: Platemail of the Crusader

Why these items?

Honestly, I don't know, this is how I did it and it works.
Monks pwn at lvl 1. Sieges & Minotaurs pwn too. Same for Bishops.

Gladiator Gloves add minion damage.
Hauberk of Life gives you and your minions a health boost.
Vlemish Faceguards allow you to resummon your idols when they're getting pwned without having to run back to your crystal.
Gloves of Fell-Darkur add minion damage.
Platemail of the Crusader adds minion health and gives you a nice armor boost.

How do you play this build?

Always keep a few Wards up where creeps normally die.

When you see an enemy demigod, stay back a bit, press m (select minions), press 3 (Surge of Faith) with your minions around you, make all the minions attack the enemy while you stay out of range.
If your minions die, resummon them and have them attack again.

Try to keep your minions out of tower range, unless you want to finnish an enemy off or you want to take a tower down.

The first few levels you can run towards an enemy and hit him together with your minions, the further into the game the more carefull you should be. You have some health & armor, but not too much.

... Without penitence?  Seriously?  Morale instead of penitence?  Do you understand what armor reduction means?  Or what an interrupt is?

Yes, instead of giving him advice and telling him why penitence is better just flame him...such a grand community we have.

"This is not a build for beginners."

He wants to start out like that, I'll treat him like a non beginner.

first, pentience is 'all damage taken increased' not armor reduction.

second, pentience deal 800 damage at max level, maxed up moral spirits and idols plus your own damage will deal about 450 DPS. and thats even without the attack buff from SoF.

pentience is a great skill, but in a minion build moral is much more usefull. about the interupt, well some would replace a skill with 1 point of it for the interupt, but thats his choice and I recpect it.

about the build, I think u forgot one of oak most usefull skills 'soul power' with lost of spirits you can do insane damage with it.

I would take it instead Divine Justice cause you dont get that many last hits with this build anyway

overall nice build, its hard for me to see how you manage Sof until velmish but I guese heavy micro which im not good at, anyway nice job.

I like this build a lot, I played with it a few times and it generates insane damage.

Totally agree with this. check this post about soul power: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/350419

I'm no pro but I would suggest this. Instead of buying Minotaur High King Idol that early, u can buy yourself a chest piece (hauberk) that gives u more survavibility. I mean u already have monks + siege lvl4 idols + ur boosted minions, thats already enough damage. And not to mention that Minotaur High King Idol die so freaking fast.

Cheers,

I never said I'm a pro, I never said this build is good either
I'm no beginner either, a beginner (as in < 50 games) won't be able to use this build, it's too complicated.

it's a minion build, the whole point is to keep your minions alive and stay out of battles yourself

also I mentioned you can replace a lot of skills, if you prefer penitence instead of morale then do it

next time pls read a post before you post your dumb commends thx
btw, lol @ armor reduction in penitence

My only problem seems to be you lack defensive or offensive capabilities, thus ignoring petince for the offensive approach and shield for defensive.

add in ring of divine might and u get +10 damage for each minion :) only issue is that if they run u can't finish them, so u need a mate who can do that.

But I think erebus is better suited for this role...

This is a classic Morale Oak build, and it's decent 1v1, on Leviathan, and wtfbroken on Crucible

Thoughts:

- I would skip Divine Justice (you don't need Penitence or SoulPower either) and get Shield instead - you aren't going to be fighting alot directly but it will help if you ever get caught out - plus you are tossing your minions away anyway, DJ isn't going to help much unless they are right next to you most of the time..

- What favor are you using?  Trigger Horn of Battle and your minions last twice as long, Ring of Might means they have higher DPS and cut through grunts.  Swift Anklet works too because it keeps you safe and makes minions faster

- Wand of Speed + Surge makes stupid fast minions, though you probably want to save the wand til surge wears off

- Sigil adds 100 to minion hp, and it's always nice to have just in case..

- This is a tough build to play in a 3v3 cata unless you are working with a Minion Erebus and stack your priest levels, maybe get a nice Grace Sedna to tank for you - you could carve through the enemy citadel with no grunt support at level 8 or so...  *shivers*  In a traditional game, though, you would suffer longterm because you couldn't cap under fire as well as a Shield Oak or interrupt a lock - maybe replace morale with Penitence 1 and Shield II and III if it looks like it will be a portal game

- The high-level idols are nice, but even buying the level 1 minos and archers will add bodies and damage

-  If you wanted to get really crazy you could ignore HP entirely (except maybe against a Snipe Reg) and just focus mana and speed and never engage directly = aircraft carrier build

;)

I actually crushed a rook using pure minions in a 1 vs 1, he was behind his towers too, so I sometimes wonder how accurate are people when they say that.

Minions have slow attack animations, so unless they move a bit faster than their target, they will have a hard time hitting a moving target.  That's why people say that Synn, and also why you killing Rook is not as suprising, due to his low speed.

Note that increase the speed of your DG also increases the speed of your minions, so a lot of minions builds could buff their guys by using Wand of Speed, Surge of Might, or even Boots of speed.
