WB 7 Suspected Bug - Windows Explorer Background (Screenshot)

When I maximise Windows Explorer, the background turns dark grey.

It doesn't matter which theme is installed. It doesn't matter what background texture has been chosen (if any) for Explorer.

The problem does not occur if WB 7 is not loaded.

This Windows explorer is MAXIMISED. The background is set to "None" (plain).  No texture, no colour.

I do not think that this is the intended behaviour.

You might try turning off any transparency you may be using with explorer backgrounds. I know Maxed windows didn't support trans. on Vista.. not sure in 7 thus far.

Yes you are right - if transparency is 0 then the problem does not happen.

I like the transparency though - and I don't think the problem existed in WB 6 on Vista.

one way to tell is to rollback to 6

Bichur - WB6 doesn't run on Win7.

Plus because I've upgraded my OS there is no way to tell for sure where the problem lies anyway - it might as well be something in Windows 7....

Anyway, I'm not in the Stardock test team... I'm just going to report what I find. They have test facilites and time. I don't.  It's up to them if they choose to do something about problems or not. But take it from someone who's been there, done that...  if you release software with too many bugs, then people look elsewhere.

Yes it does. I've always got my explorer backgrounds set to be transparent but on Vista whether using WB6 or WB7 when you maximize the windows the bg turns black. Not sure if it is a Windows or Windowblinds issue though.

100% this is a bug, and a VERY annoying one. Cannot read the black text against charcoal background.

I know what the workaround is (disable transparency)  I'm just posting to highlight that this ought to be fixed.

WB version, latest, not cracked. OS Win 7.

This background is supposed to be transparent and the background colour is pale cream.

The window is not maximised.

Is it always dark grey or does it change with different skins?

I don't know and I don't want to test it because I have my desktop set up exactly the way I want it and don't want to mess around anymore and mess up settings etc.

However, the skin in the screenshot is "Laguna" which is by a "Master Skinner".

So it ought not be corrupted. I think I even paid for it. If the theme had been a hack by some teenager, then I would probably have suspected the skin... But with Laguna, I didn't.
