Hi, I purchased windowsblinds in May, I was wondering if I was eligible for a free wb7 upgrade?
I believe free upgrades will be for purchases from April 1st 2009 onwards.
Yeah, rather lame how it's set up. I paid in full for v6, was promised free upgrades, but because it wasn't by a specific date, I get nothing and I'm supposed to pay full-price again.
Free upgrades are normally for the version you pay for or as Neil explained when you subscribe during a specific time frame. I've been subscribing for five years and that is how it has been, probably been that way since then came out with the software.
If it's like in the past members of the community like yourself normally are given a discount when they upgrade to the new version.
When did you purchase WB6 and who promised a free upgrade to WB7?
If you purchased before April 1st, you get a discounted upgrade rate of $9.99.

Ya even at $10 to upgrade it's quite a bargain really, not many other (useful) things I could upgrade for that. If I could, I'd be having one serious upgrade party! 
Updated for a new OS, a few free blinds, the ability to skin Aero, textures, a new GUI, a years worth of updates... just to name a few of the new features.
All this for a mere $10.00...hell, that's less then the price of a 12 pack.
I really don't see how anyone could complain...Stardock's just about giving it away at that price. 10 bucks sure doesn't cover the costs involved.
actually if you buy the standalone it's any updates for WindowBlinds 7.x The anual thing only applies to Object Desktop subscriptions.
i bought wb7 today, will i be eligle for discount/free upgrade when wb8 is released?
Off the top of my head and based upon what I have experienced here, only if you keep you subscription current.
Of course someone will correct me if I am wrong. 
EDIT: Oops, a discount, now that is a different story.
WindowBlinds 7 has only recently been released so a theoretical WindowBlinds 8 would be a long way off right now.
In the past any old WindowBlinds customers regardless of when they purchased would get a discount for an upgrade. Free upgrades would only apply to people who purchased the older version within a few months of the new version being released.
The same is true for WindowBlinds 7.
