Clicking on Start Button opens Windows User Profile!

Has anybody else experienced this very irritating bug-like behaviour?

It is present with some skins but not others...

Basically you intend to use the start button, but the skin (or is it WB itself?) opens the user configuration panel for Windows user accounts.

Very irritating! I thought at first that it was a feature, but it's simply too silly and it is not occuring with all skins, just some.

 

I had the problem on Vista with WB 6.

To my disappointment it was still present in Win7 with WB 7.

I assume that this is a known bug and it would be nice to get a confirmation that others have seen this behaviour too.

Harmony is one of the themes in which this happens.

OS = Win 7 with the latest patches. WB as below:

This happens in many skins, including my favourite, Laguna.

 

Steps to reproduce:

Run WB 7 latest build on Win 7 latest build.

Use skin "Laguna".

Put the task bar vertically at the right hand side (not sure if this is needed to trigger the bug).

Change the colour of the skin (not sure if this is needed to trigger the bug)

Click on the Start button.

Observe that the User Profile settings window is opened when you click on the start button.

 

Workaround:

I am using the task bar from another theme which does not suffer from this problem (Miricla) for the time being..

This is because the user icon ends up under where your mouse is when you release the button.

thanks! But why does it only happen with some skins and not others?

Is it related to where the taskbar is - ie vertical right in my case?

u are clicking on the the user icon which in some skins is set to show and in some skins... it isn't, also, the positioning for the user icons is different in some skins. Yes its related to using the right vertical taskbar. It isnt a bug.

 

Harmony has not been [re]designed for 7 yet.
