Updating SoaSE with slow Internetconnection

Hi altogether,

I live in a german Village and my Internetconnetion is on Stone-Age-Level. So I downloaded Impulse for updating SoaSE. Sadly I have to download almost 500 MB, which would take Weeks to do, not mentioned the Costs...

 

Usually ich have large data downloaded by friends with a faster Connection. This is of course impossibel in that case, because they dont have the game/impulse installed.

 

Any suggestions, how to solve my problem?

you can login there with your impulse account, download the actual vanilla / entrenchment version (offline installation possible), on a friend´s pc, then take it home and install it on your own.

i´m not sure whether you have to uninstall your game first, but i would guess so.

Thanks for that info. But sadly ist does indeed not solve my problem. I do not want to buy the addons (not yet at least), but update SoaSE on Version 1.18. Thats not possible via you link! At least not as far as I understand the sentence below:

"Only full installations are available through this website ; to download incremental updates please use the Impulse client."

...well so I will not play the Game, as long as I did not visit one of my friends with my PC...

the downloadable version at impulsedriven always includes the latest patch :) (1.181.067, at the moment)

 

there are no incremental updates available on impulsedriven, though - so you´ll have to download it again if there is a new patch.

BUT .. the incremental patchtes which are still to come will be a lot smaller and even a 56k modem should hopefully do it using the normal patch way via impulse, then.
