Which version to buy

I am looking to buy the Ultimate Edition of Gal Civ2 off of Impulse.

However have read about some issues with registering/patching the ultimate edition from the UK. I presume that if its downloaded from Impule there shouldn't be a problem registering the software and installing updates. If anyone can confirm this assumption then that would be great.

Those issues were resolved some time ago. The Europe EU/UL versions are at the same version as the standard UL now.
