The brighter side of life

Okay okay, i'm being a loser from the last articles i've written and i admit it. I am drowning in a glass of water. So, for a change i've decided to list the good things in my life and have a better attitude towards the hassles and troubles that come my way. So here i go:

1- I got a job. Not my dream job, but it affords food!
2- I dont rent, dont pay for water or electricity. A friend of my Dad's is lending me this big ass house (with a SPA!!!!). I dont need to pay for anything. He says he doesnt want to rent it out so i can use as long as i need it. I cant thank him enough. I am saving up as much as i can.
3- Darren is coming back soon. And we'll talk over the phone (Which i found, yay!) tonight.
4- My mum & Dad are in great shape and they recently received some money that was due to them. So happy for them :)
5- I am healthy. Nothing is wrong with my body. (except my eyes, but no big deal).
6- I have great friends. They're here for me as much as i'm here for them.
7- I live in Vanuatu. Paradise.
8- I've started looking around for X-mas presents and get more and more excited as the days go by.

I am really blessed. I needed to name my blessings aloud. I'm sure i've forgotten a ton of things but this is the really best things i could think of.

This therapy is really working, i'm feeling so much better. You know YOU should try. "Count your blessings name them one by one.."

Good for you Island_gurl! Things have been kinda lousy for you, and I am so proud of you for taking the time out to find light in your life. Sometimes all we have to do is stop focusing on the bad for a few minutes, and we gain a whole new outlook!

WTG!

I do that once in a while too. It cheers me up a bit when I'm down. Helps me to appreciate things a bit more.

It is such a good feeling isnt it Ravenblack?

I think we should all sit down and think about our blessings more often. It's human nature to remember bad things, but we should point out what's good in our lifes instead of taking everything for granted. It really makes you realise what's important and helps you take your mind off of 'bad things'.

It definitely takes a little effort to get started, but once you do...it is infectious, and changes the way everything looks.

I love the saying: "Keep your face towards the sun, and you won't see the shadows behind you." as a Christian, I sometimes change sun with "Son" ....it gives it an even more amazing meaning.

I envy you living in Vanuatu. My wife and I would love to live on a tropical island such as yours. Glad you're feeling chipper - you deserve to...

Cheers,

Beachside suburb of Coogee in Sydney - I'm biased but I think its one of the best spots in Sydney to live. I work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, which is the next suburb so I don't have to commute. It takes me 10 minutes to walk to work - I love it...

Cheers,

Maso

Cool, i went to Sydney only once, that was two years ago. It was ok, but after a week i couldnt wait to come back home. Life was too busy over there. But i really enjoyed the trip. We went to the Botanical Garden, The Opera House, The Chinese Garden, the zoo, i cant remember the name of the tower but we had dinner there. Heh, 1st time i ate kangoroo and emu... And the shopping!!!!!!!!

We also went to Kingscross, just to have a look. Eewww...

Oh, and my Dad got operated at the hospital you work at! How cool is that?! Maybe you saw him and we didnt even 'know' each other yet!

But yeah i believe you are in one of the best places on earth maso Still now that Virgin Blue is serving, Air Vanuatu has lowered thair rates so you should come over. Might like it...

Vanuatu is on top of our list, believe me. My wife wants to visit as many islands as we can get to as she has this idea (not unfounded, I guess) that a lot of the islands may well be under water in the not-too-distant future (I hope I'm not scaring you at all - not my intention) so she would really like to see them.

Get the hell outta here! What a coincidence about your Dad being in my hospital. Its a large complex and I work in the admin. side of things so I doubt I would have seen him. But you never know.

The tower is called the Centrepoint Tower. I've been there once in all the years I've lived here. The Taronga Zoo is one of my most favourite place in the world! I'm such an animal lover, I could spend weeks there and not get sick of it. I agree with your assessment of Kings Cross as well. I have a good friend who lives there and some of the stories he tells me are disturbing.

Same goes for you. If you are ever over here and need a tour guide or a night on the town, just let me know.

Cheers and speak to you soon,

Maso
