Please bring back Skirmish

from Demigod Forums

Skirmish was removed so that the auto match system only focuses on one part. However, when a Pantheon tournament was in progress, most of the people already focused on Pantheon games. So removing it did not increase the amount of players in Pantheon games.

 

But when no Pantheon tournament was in progress, people definitely used Skirmish. At times I prefer to use the auto match options, to play with or against random teams. I prefer Skirmish over Pantheon for that, because there it's almost ensured that the teams are truly random. In Pantheon you can trick the system to get into the same game on the same team with friends. And in Pantheon FoL and FoD Demigods cannot be mixed, which sometimes leads to ridiculous match ups against doubles or triples.

Now we can't use auto matching at all in between Pantheon tournaments...

 

 

Oh and please remove the AI completely from Pantheon and Skirmish games or at least implement or fix the /noAI switch! :).

I like haveing panthenon only option now.

For gods sakes please DO NOT reinstate skirmish.

 

But please please fix the AI in panthenon games, thankyou.

Why does pantheon need a cool down period, why not start immediately upon completion.  Why is it there even a light and darkside, nothing comes of the light or darkside winning?

So now that the downtime between Epochs is 24 hours (at least that's what FB stated), there isn't much point to Skirmish.

I say eliminate panth, and make it skirmish only. 

Panth seemed like a neat idea at first, dark vs light and whatnot.  But it suck.  It really does.  The light/dark division is worhtless as it stands.  Perhaps if there were more diversity, say 6 DGs to a side, instead of 4 it would be better.

 

On a side not Panth has been pissing me off lately.  It sticks me (As rook) in a 2v2 on Ziggarat in the mode where flags have to be kept (dominate?).  And guess what, its usually another rook player with me.... Agianst an LE/UB combination (or Ub/ub or LE/LE)

That is insta fail usually.  If I knew thats what i was getting into ahead of time I would choose a different DG.

Yeah, if anything should be eliminated, it should be Pantheon, not Skirmish. But as I pointed out, there was no reason to eliminate Skirmish in the first place.

I prefer as it is now. But I would like Pantheon to change a bit so everyone can play agains everyone even after you have chosen a side.

Perhaps they could make a Panth "epoch'(is that what there called?)  Last longer.  What they need to do is make a short back story, and instead of having light vs dark have it be Demis x,x,x, and x vs x,x,x, and x.  The back story (a few hundred words) would eplain why they are fueding, and hence why it is those 4 vs the other 4.

 

This way, there could be different team combination but it still keeps the story that there are sides. 

Ok that is my weak attempt for why we should keep the division, but in reality, we shouldnt.

Well if we break up the division, then it's just Skirmish. So why not just bring back Skirmish :P.
