DeskScapes 3 Beta Update Released

A new update for the DeskScapes 3 beta has been released today.  DeskScapes is an application that lets you have animated wallpapers on your Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 (DS3 beta only).  There are hundreds of animated wallpapers, also called .dreams, available for download on sites such as WinCustomize.com.

The current beta of DeskScapes 3 is available for download if you have an active Object Desktop subscription, and is available through Impulse.

The latest update includes:

  • Dream effects – Apply effects to .dreams allows you to change the way they look with cool looking filters
  • Hybrid Dream Support – A Hybrid Dream is a new type of .dream that mixes static and animated images, which use significantly less resources
  • DreamMaker with Hybrid Support

Dream effects only seem to work on purely video .dreams at this point.  Will that be changing in future releases?

Dream effects work on all dreams.

I'm in impulse now, all I see is deskscapes updated 9/25/2009. Is that the Deskscapes 3 beta. I'm on Win7 Ultimate final off MSDN

Make sure you have 'Show prereleased versions" checked in Impulse

I have "show freeware and demos" but not 'Show prereleased versions" I bought the $50 version of object desktop about 10 months ago thanks in advance, and thanks for responding philly :)

Deskscapes with an update of 25th Sept 2009 should be the beta.
