Share a Favorite Song or Music Artist

I listen to all types of music, and since we have such a diverse community I thought it would be fun to share a favorite album or artist with others.

My pick today is Ziggy Marley.

He is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley, and in my opinion he sounds very much like him.

His latest release is on iTunes from a live performance at SoHo.  Any fan of his should check this out.

Amazon also has a single of his for free, so it's a great opportunity for others to check out.

Funny how this thread came up. My step-son is doing a school project where he has to pick 10 songs that tell the story of his life. I just got done running to Walmart for the dang report cover  and burning the CD to go with it.

He did a paragraph on me.

He chose a song from 'Pink Floyd'.

From 'Dark Side Of The Moon'.

Yes. He chose 'Brain Damage'.

You can stop laughing now.

You to, Doc. Just stop.

Try that.

You have to paste it in, highlight it, right click, choose insert/edit link, paste it in there, apply. At least that's how I did it.

You should be able to hit the add a link icon above the chatbox, and insert a link that way.

Storm... Donald Fagen is Steely Dan...well technicly half but he was the major talent and was the driving force of the group. Basicly Becket wrote a few songs and played bass. Funny bit of trivia...the name Steely Dan was taken from a sex toy.               thanks carguy i always thought the night fly was his without steely dan .  :-"      and i don't think i want to know what a steely dan sex toy is but have to admit im curios gonna look it up XD

Storm347 is right on with Donald Fagan of course, but even better are the lads of XTC.

Same here.  I briefly listened to a couple of the tracks, but the name of the band (Garbage) seemed synonymous with what I was hearing.

:-"

Each to his/her own, though... without our differences there'd be no variety.. not a lot to choose from. :sun:

Another artist who really gets my musical appreciation on a high is David Lindley

Lindley is a classy guitarist who does great reggae and some really catchy tunes.  I have the album featured in the linked clip... top class, every single track.

Another one from the vaults... 1974.  Guitarist extraordinaire, Robin Trower... Too Rolling Stoned

This is the original Album Version, but there are some great live versions listed on the page. :sun:

I haven't seen Robin Trower since 'The Old Grey Whistle Test'. Thanks for that.

Actually, like that stuff a lot Po, very heartfelt, one of these days\years my bro-inlaw and I will get around to, get together, and perhaps put our original songs down on 'tape'

-Meanwhile, my friend friend Joe referenced a song a page or 2 ago I was currently trying to 'cover', Feel Good Inc - Gorillaz.

Heres what I have so far....bout half of it. All produced in Ableton Live 8 and my trusty Shure 58 mic. on my PC.
