Update error

I'm having trouble getting my entrenchment expansion to update. it keeps telling me that my cd-key or e-mail is invalid to activate it for registration. but the copy of entrenchment was bought and given to me by my friend. is it possible that it's connected to his account and not mine? and if so how can i fix this so that i can update my copy of entrenchment to be able to play it?

That sounds like it's exactly the problem.  I would have your friend contact [email protected] with your username and email address (along with his) to straighten it out.  I don't think you'll be able to do it on your own, as you could effectively steal another person's game if that was the case. 

In the future, I believe there's an option at checkout to purchase it as a gift that can be selected.

yes. i believe so it has to be your friend to contact stardock in this case as it was from him.

I wonder if they will still help even though my friend joined the military and I can't get his account info from him that easy? That or i'm in trouble.. will I still be able to get help though if I can give them the cd-key because it shows it on my account info?
