Creating new Research subjects?
Wondering if anybody can outline in detail or point me in the direction of a tutorial or guide to learn how to create entire research subjects and even research trees.

I really don't get these threads. Copy and paste an old one. Add it to the player file. You've created a new research subject. Change its prereqs around and change its position. You've created a research tree.

Maybe you dont get these threads becuase you have been modding or simply know what your doing with modding. I have not modded a great deal and if it is as straight forward as you say then I will give it a shot.

Relik - Before Wednesday the only modding I had ever done was adjusting values to damage or hit points. Wednesday afternoon I decided I didnt like one of the tech trees in the Sacrafice of Angels 2 mod. With no prior expierience or anything, I moved the entire tech tree around, added a ton of pre-reqs, and completely removed one tech, spending about 4 hours in the process. Just open the game research entity files after you convert them into text and the insides are self-explanatory.
Creating/removing tech is a little harder, but barely. Once you create the new tech(just copy another tech as a template and change what you want) or remove the tech you dont want, you have to open to race entity file and manually added/delete it to/from the list of research subjects for that race and make sure to update the research count.
