Which chapter?

Hi,

 

I've just installed GCII Ultimate Edition, so i have all three editions - DL, DA and TotA.

 

Which one should i play? Should i play them in order? Or should i just skip to the most recent? Don't want to miss out on anything in the other two editions by skipping straight to the last one.

Welcome to GCII.

If you're in for the long term, I suggest starting with DL.  For a good fight try a huge or gigantic map, 4 or 5 tough AI.

The only difference is the campaigns, which I think the previous campaigns are included in the newest chapter. If you want all the features, play TA. If you want something more easy and less complicated, play DL, though you will not get any of the useful features that were new in DA and TA.

Thanks for the replies!

I am in for the 'long haul'. Played many a 4X, space based and historical as well as many other RTS strategy games, so there's nothing i like to do more than to lose countless hours hunched over the PC striving for domination in one format or another. You guys know exactly what i mean :)

I have already started a game on DL, meduim sized universe, medium difficulty, just to ease myself in.

I flirted with GalCiv when it originally came out but due to various things (time, mainly) never got into it fully, i did however enjoy playing the game. I just recently upgraded to a decent PC (first one in a few years) so i am now able to play a decent sized game on it (unlike my old PC, which was made out of wood) and i picked up GCII Ultimate for 10 quid (like 6 bucks or something) from amazon - awesome!!

Looking forward to many more happy hours plotting and scheming galactic domination as well as participating in the web forum community. Thanks again guys.
