Here are some suggestions for the next expansion pack, formed by hours and hours of playing experience.
- Make missions independant of teams
- So you can have two options, for fixed teams, and missions enabled.
- Teams can be fixed but still get missions for credits/metal/crystal prizes
- Teams can be unfixed but you can turn off missions
- Ability to define how friendly other nations are to begin with. (enemy 0%, neutral 50%, and friendly 100%)
- Decrease the space between collapsed planets on the left panel (the space could fit 5-6 more plantets easily).
- Ability to increase the speed in multiplayer. This is a must! Things are too damn slow! (3 player game on a large galaxy took > 7h to research everything!)
- Either as a setting before the game
- Or as an all party agreed change during game
- Or just like a normal game (the host can speed it up whenever he wants)
- Capital Ship overview
- Managing upgrades and fighter wings from an overview screen of each capital ship
- Finding and clicking on each one for upgrading is time consuming.
- Timed games
- The host sets a game time (10m, 30m, 60m, 4h or whatever) and at the end of the game, scores are calculated and the winner (best empire) is decided. It can help solve stalemates that occur when planets/galaxies are too heavily fortified.
- Acheivement system improvements
- Acheivement screen: If not complete, show the closest the player has come to achieving it
- Ingame: Allow the user access to the achievements screen, showing which ones were completed in this game, which ones are currently working on, and how far along those are. For example, kill 1000 pirates..... how many have I killed so far? I don't know!
- Black Market Improvements
- I've since figured it out, but the Black Market is more complicated than need be. At first, I didn't know what was happening. I'd add more labels about the price values, and more labels showing how much you're offering (and make clear that you don't buy resources from the bottom fields). Perhaps a tutorial on this and diplomacy would be good.
- Space mine replacement
- Buying 1 space mine replacement should not charge the cost of 10.
- An options to auto buy and place space mines (don't want to have to deal with > 20 planets later on in the game!)
