Can not uninstall the free version of Deskscapes, and Impulse now fails to load.

I've just installed the free trial version of Deskscapes and it causes Impulse to not load (on startup, from the tray, via the .exe file ; nothing - it will not load - sometimes it will blink the loading screen). So now I'd like to uninstall Deskscapes, however nothing is working. CCleaner does nothing when selected to uninstall it. The Uninstall helper in the Deskscapes folder does nothing.

This link:

...does NOTHING. I've seen it recommended in other threads with exactly this problem, and all it does when selected to uninstall deskscapes is give an error: "Can't load d3dx9_32.dll".

All I want is to get rid of the clearly corrupted program so I can go back to enjoying my software from Impulse. Can anyone help? Some technical info:

Vista

UAC has been turned off since day 1

Restarting has done nothing

Yes I can get the Deskscapes trial backgrounds to actually work under Personalize-->Backgrounds

Tell me what security software you have running.

The only security programs that run automatically w/o my consent are Windows Defender and Norton 360.

Alright, take me off the list.

Found a suggestion to download Revo Uninstaller. I thought CCleaner was the goduninstaller but I guess not. Revo it is. Took Deskscapes off like nothing then just had to reinstall (repair) Impulse.

Direct link for anyone else:

Your problem is Norton 360 (especially if it's "Premium"). Revo does a good job...you just picked the wrong program to uninstall.

Get NOD 32. Much better, and won't soak up your system resources like Norton does. It never got along well with Windows.

I made the mistake of getting it. Never again!

Yeah, sure. The problem is downloading this fucking piece of shit software called Deskcapes from the least userfriendly company I've ever have the agony dealing with..

Thankfully, your experience appears to be anomalous.  If you haven't contacted support, I'd suggest that before forming an opinion.
