THIS IS A DRAFT!
the only reason i am allowing myself to put a stream of thought up tonight is because i havent been able to stop thinking about the gig last night. The Espy in St Kilda wasn't very packed to see Perth's End of Fashion and Gelbison with special guest old man river. but i have to say that the band end of fashion impressed me to no end, the drumer was intense and the front men looked like they were born with guitars around their necks. but what impressed me the most was the sound of the group every instrument was crisp and had its place every riff stood out yet blended in at the same time. End of fashion, though, seemed to sound like every other band that has come out in the last year BUT... they take a mix of everything and make it their own without sounding as if they have stolen, borrowed or are impersonating- without specifically giving you examples you may never realise how versitial and/or unique they are the thing that stands out most is Justin the lead singers voice, it can go from screaming intense to deep and harmonising without missing a note and honestly it looked as if at times he would have been happy anywhere if he could just play and sing.
*NOTE*
to tired to write about Gelbison right now will update soon and hopefully put up you am i review and a von bondies review. the site is in progress- never fear! but more on this gig soon i'll write a real review soon. j.
