In Impulse, have you turned on the option to see pre-releases?

Click on the orb in the upper left.

Click on the impulse globe (top left)

check Show pre-release versions

Ya beat me to it, Stripes!

I've got "show pre-release versions" duly ticked and I've now reset the data 7 or 8 times, but still no joy.  WB7 actually shows up briefly while the data is updates after being reset, but once the update is complete it disappears without giving me a chance to install.

Anybody have a clue what I'm doing wrong, or not doing that I should do?  Getting kinda desperate here....

I had the same trouble, actually. I had WB7 (beta1) installed and I couldn't seem to get it to update to beta 2

Here's what I did:

1. Back up skin folder

2. Apply aero

3. Unload windowblinds

4. Unistall WB7 beta 1

5. Reboot

6. Install WB 6

7. Reboot

8. Update to WB 7 (beta 2)

9. Reboot

Sounds like a lot of work? Youbetcha........but it worked

Thanks for that mate, much appreciated!  Unfortunately installing WB6 won't wash here though, as I'm running Win7 and just get adviced that WB6 is incompatible.  WB6 was removed already when I upgraded in place from Vista x64 yesterday, as that was a pre-requisite of the OS upgrade.

Have you tried a unistall/reinstall of impulse?

Yes indeedy, 3 times now.  Same thing happens every time - it comes up showing only WB6, I reset and update and when it comes back up after the update it shows WB7 while logging in, but it disappears immediately after log-in is complete, giving me no chance to install it.

Frickin' frustrating stuff.

Edit: yeah, definitively support time I guess.

Same problem here. Shows up briefly and then disappears :( I started a support ticket with Stardock. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of this issue. Also, everytime I Reset Data, Impulse seems to be trying to update but it doesn't seem to take.

There was an update released for Impulse yesterday that should address the issues with the betas not showing correctly.  If you are still having issues after the update, please e-mail [email protected]

Shirley....what's the number of the update...as I uninstalled...downloaded Impulse again...and it apparently updated to build 1273 but still no WB7.

Forgot....Win 7 ult RTM ...64bit.

I believe the build number is correct.  If it is still nto showing, try resetting data.  The issue was a problem with the odnt.xml and odntbasic.xml files in Impulse.  If even a reset data fails, shift-clcik on the help icon in the upper left and select the option to view XML.  In the folder that comes up, delete the above mentiuoned files.  Once you do this, close and re-launch Impulse, which should force them to update.

The most recent update of Impulse solved the issue for me (where removing the xml files did nothing) and WB7b2 is now working perfectly (or so it seems, so far) under Win7 x64 Ultimate.  To be honest I prefer the old UI over the new one (no need to change something just for the sake of change in my opinion), but I'm not fuzzy.

Thanks for sorting this out folks!

Yes, the latest update to Impulse should have addressed this.
