Windowblinds 7 - Your registration for this product is not valid

When I click on the update for Windowblinds 7, I get a message saying that "Your Registration for this product is not valid" and asks me if I want to update that registration. Well, i don't HAVE a registration key for Windowblinds 7

My Windowblinds 6 and Object Desktop Ultimate are registered fine.

is your WB registered separately from ODNT

I guess so. I mean, I used two different serial numbers, and they are listed separately on Impulse's registration tab.

ODNT comes with WB

ODNTs serial covers it

Maybe you can't get 7 cuz it's looking for ODNT's serail against WB

 

copy WB number just in case

copy skins to new location just in case

try uninstalling WB (you can archive it 1st just in case)

once unistalled - take WB's  serail out of the reigistration

 

update odnt registration

reinstall wb

see if you can get 7

Not worth all that hassle. I am much too busy to spend my entire evening on this stuff. Just gonna get my money back, I guess.

Folks have been experiencing some problems getting the WindowBlinds 7 Beta 2 update.  It took me several times to get it.  One thing you can try with Impulse open is click on the Icon in the upper left hand corner and select Preferences and then click of reset data.  That has worked.  You can also open the update page and in the upper right hand corner click on download all updates. 

Don't feel like you are alone, like I said several folks are having problems.  There are a couple other threads going in the forums that talk about this problem.

When I reset data, the update showed up but invalid registration. Then it said there was an update to Impulse, and when I updated it, the WB update disappeared.

After trying many different things, "Download All Updates" worked.

I've been trying since last night.......when I click on "install all updates" it says that impulse needs to update first. It seems that Impulse self updates, but doesn't auto restart and apply the update. Then when I restart impulse, the WB7 update is not available. I click the globe, preferances, reset......bla bla bla and I'm full circle.

Ok.

 

Here's what worked for me:

Uninstall WB7 beta 1

Revert back to WB6

Reboot

Install WB7 (now the new beta is available through impulse)

Reboot

Can't believe you'd give up on a program you obviously enjoy since you use it and paid for it just because of a problem with the "BETA" version.  Seems like you partly created the problem by using two serial numbers for the same product.

I highly doubt fixing this would take the whole evening.  But in the end its your loss.

This is something we're looking into internally, and can be caused by a few things.  The most common fix is to reset data in Impulse.  If this does not work for you, you can try shift-clicking on the help orb in the upper right of the Impulse UI. This will now show the option to show the Public XMLs folder.  Select this option, and in the folder fine the file "odntbasic.xml" and delete it. Once you do this, close this window, and back in Impulse hit the F5 key.  If all this fails, please e-mail [email protected].

Also, please keep in mind this only affects the beta versions.  You will not encounter this with the full, production versions.  I would suggest if you are looking to stay away from glitches, that you not use the beta software.
