What Demigod needs to take off

I find myself playing less and less, and that is not because imbalance of gameplay, the game is basically fine. The number one problem is match-making.

You need to be able to find and play games.

2000 players playing customs is a sign that something is seriously wrong. Often you see tens of games with 50 players waiting to start a game and because the bad matchmaking in Skirmish, who can blame them. If you have to remove stats from custom games, fine, adding level to players in lobby, fine. But most important is to get matchmaking to work.

I think that releasing a demo, where new players will find this mess is very bad for the game. If I got a demo and got online to experience this, I would never buy the game.

If I ruled the world, I would make my number one priority to make Skirmish games work, implement some matchmaking based on level, then move on to team-skirmish.

Sadly, I think that despite being a great game, this problem alone can kill the game if nothing is done.

Take a look at the 1.2 update notes in Journals - Demigod will be an entirely new beast in August :)

I wonder if we'll ever see a day where someone doesn't feel the urge to make a pointless thread like this?

Probably not.
