I installed WB 6.4 and I can get as far as selecting a new skin. Then, when I press the button "apply my changes" nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanx

Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on "System info" then click the "Copy text" button. Paste that info here.

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.4 (build 73 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha.  WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor.  Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware.  Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature.  Onboard graphics tend not to.

I was finally able to get WB 6.4 to work by installing a version 5.0 and then upgarding it (sounds crazy but it worked). Then everything was fine and was able to load three or four different skins. However, when I loaded Aero Metal it loaded fine but from that point on was unable to change to other skins. Strange!

Have you tried checking the ATI site for updated drivers?  It may be a good idea to contact [email protected] and start a trouble ticket.

You need to be careful updating mobility card drivers. Many laptop manufacturers have their own version of the ATI drivers so check with them first.

AMD/ATI has dropped support for your card (and lots of others) from their current drivers.  The last Catalyst version that is likely to work for you is 9.3.1.  Their site has a link to their "older" drivers.  Use that link.  This will work if you're running Vista or XP.

If you're running Windows 7, there are NO drivers for your card (and the other legacy cards as well).  You will have to install the Vista drivers in compatibility mode.
