Let Stardock Develop Content GPG!

Give Stardock More Ability GPG

I'm serious about this. I want to know why. I want to know why Frogboy is forced to handle everything and he does not even work at GPG. GPG guys are posting on SupCom2 on the GPG Net forums all the time. Why do we not ever get a single bit of a useful post from GPG here? We want to hear from you. This game is released. You're supposed to be around supporting it. Instead all the focus seems to have gone onto SupCom 2.

Thus, I want to know what owners of Demigod want. Frogboy has posted this:

I think that the planned 2 demigods at a time is fine.  Frogboy mentioned a Demigod 'pipeline' - I hope this means we can expect to see Demigods come out at a much faster rate once they get chugging.
I am saying how I'dl ike it to be seen.

I see 3 possibilities:

1. I am able to persuade GPG to produce more Demigods faster.

2. I am able to persaude GPG to let Stardock produce Demigods/maps for them and then release.

3. I am able to persuade GPG to let modders and Stardock to produce Demigods/maps for them and then release them.

That's the bottom line really.

This means that Stardock is probably willing to develop content. Who else that owns Demigod wants to see option 2 or 3 persued? And lets not have this post get buried. We all are talking about more content so lets make it known here we want Stardock to be making it alongside GPG.

Option 3 all the way... if they suddenly released modding capabilities i would sit down at my computer and work my ass of until i'd made at least 2 or 3 new maps and edited the hell out of the items... neglecting sleep... food... showering... blinking.  it say within 24 hours i'd be able to get at least (depending on the details) 3 maps up and running (depending on simple modding is).

trouble with GPG and SD is that they work 8 hour days and everyone who has ever worked in a cubicle should know that only about 2-2.5 of that 8 are actualy done working.  unpaid modders on the other hand can work basicly like robots for up to 4 days straight (at which time they start to die from sleep depervasion)

If I remember rightly, Stardock have a publishing agreement to provide the kind of support we've been seeing so far. They went above and beyond with the connectivity issues to ensure we had a playable game as soon as possible, however as Frogboy has made mention a few times it's certainly not something they wanted to do. I understand your point of view, however I wouldn't want to see them pull people from their other projects, including Impulse's improvements which will benefit Demigod's community anyway - and of course Elemental, putting them further behind. Gas Powered Games developed Demigod and know how best to develop for it. It's their responsibility to deliver additional content - not the publishers. I recommend hitting the offical Gas Powered Games forums and putting a little bit of pressure on them there to be more open to the Demigod community if that's what you'd like.

And that's why I believe modding should come before clan support as I stated in the thread Frogboy asked about what we think should come first. We can live without it for now. We just need more ladder tweaking.

The GPG net Demigod forums pretty much don't exist, Zehdon. These are the official ones. I think Stardock is different than other publishers here. I've seen no other company be more about the average gamer than Stardock. I think Stardock would put in more effort to make the customers happy. And I'm sure Frogboy has ideas he wants to put in.

I know Stardock is focused on Elemental right now, but I think Demigod still has more potential than a single player focused turn based strategy game. I could be wrong though. One thing is for sure though, I don't feel Stardock is forgetting about Demigod in the place of Elemental like I feel GPG is doing with SupCom 2.

I'd buy Stardock again any day, like I have been. Not so sure with GPG.

They do have their own forum. I think we should all start posting there http://forums.gaspowered.com/

I didn't mean hitting the 'offical' Demigod forums; we're currently posting on them. I meant Gas Powered Games' forums in general. Let them know your position and thinking. I understand that they're currently reading these Offical forums, and by posting on their own forum you might just get a reply. At the very least, they'll be aware.

I guess we'll just have to disagree; I don't think Stardock should be doing someone elses work when they have their own projects to work on that many people, myself included, are looking forward to. Sorry.

I think the point is GPG does not seem to this community that they are doing their own work. Which is why I got excited where I saw a post from Frogboy implying Stardock could chip in.
