No Debug.err report?

Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place, because there is always a debug.err generated with every game.

well i went to documents/mygames/galciv2   but all that is in there is save folders do you have any other ideas?

I only have Dread Lords, so I don't really know about the other versions and where they store this file.

But I do know that every version creates a debug.err whenever the game starts.

In the original GalCiv2 Dread Lords it is in the main game folder, but in the most recent versions it is in \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2.

Every version has its own debug.err in its own folder.

When in doubt, right click on your hard drive in My Computer, choose Search and then search for debugg.err.  It'll find it , just make sure it's the right one (aka, check the date modified).

The locations should be as follows:

Dread Lords: My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2
Dark Avatar: My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Twilight of the Arnor: My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

For some reason though, I thought Vista was tossing them elsewhere...  None-the-less, a search for debugg.err is fool-proof.

It'll only not be in My Documents/My Games if you're running an old version of the game (which could also explain the problems). It was changed to that location because limited user accounts won't let it write to the game folder where it used to go.

Update the game via Impulse, then if you still encounter the issue you're having, the debug should be in My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2 as expected.
