Close Games are the Most Fun

Demigod is inherently a game where a winning team can often press an advantage to end the game with a blowout.

But no always:

A game I played a while back. Notice that the favor of the losing team is actually fairly close to some of the winning team members.  We won by ganking their citadel slightlyh faster and more efficiently then they did ours. Zechnophobe won the award for longest kill streak.  That streak? 3 kills.

The final move, that ended the game, was Unclean beast capturing a health flag, and Rook and TB teleporting to it. The three Dg's quickly capped and locked both portal flags, and pounded the citadel to death with help from giants et all.  The other team was trying to do a similar move on the other side of the map, but had walked most of the way there, instead of teleporting.

Anyone else have any cool stories of close games that were won by the skin of their teeth?

Crazy comebacks in Cataract are possible because you can steal the side portals and lock them then crank out the creeps.  I've won games where I had others on my team 0-10 and the enemies all 2+ levels higher.

Other stages - not so much.  Exile, Prison, or Crucible - never.

I recently had a really close game on Leviathan, we were pretty much tied for kills and warscore the entire match, and it ended with us both having each others base portals locked and beating on each others Citadels with giants, they had a QoT on their team -armoring our Citadel though so it went down much much faster, was one of the closest games I've had.
