Why would skirmish create a 2v1 game?

Seems a bit unfair to me.  What am I supposed to do in this situation?  Had I been at least given an AI it could have easily been doable, but I feel like this is just absurd.

This generally occurs when a player quits after the match has been created and all the players are awaiting to connect or load the map.  So chances are a 2v2 match was created and one of the players quit before everyone was all the way in the game.

I should also point out that we are working towards either replacing this player with an AI Player.  After we have that code in then we will work towards replacing that player with a human player. This will take work from both GPG and Stardock so we are waiting until we have all the pieces put in.
