Compensation for Losing

Long story short:  There's no reason to stay in a game once someone has left and AI takes over and/or you know for a fact you're going to lose.  We all know how that ends.

Now, I just spent an hour and a half in a game against 3 very good people.  We had 2 good people and 1 new guy to Rook.  Needless to say we lost.  Not a big deal.  What I have issue with is the fact that Rook, who had the most deaths, least kills and least flag caps had the most FP at 25.  25 points after 1.5 hours of gameplay.  The other member of our team and I only got 10 points...for one and a half hours of gameplay, which I knew was a loss 10 minutes in.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but can someone please logically explain to me the benefit of playing very long games if the reward is 10-25 Favor Points?  In my opinion it's not worth it.

I would suggest that there be a FP bonus for how long you stay in the game.  I don't know how many, that's for the devs to figure out.  The people that have been here a while probably have every item by now and are stockpiling points for the new items so I don't know if that would fly, but if they have all their items already, what would be the harm?

It's a fun game, I like it.  Its obvious though it was rushed out and not tested to the extent it needed to be.

The favor point attibution system doesn't make sense to me. You should receive favor each time you kill/cap flags/buy at the citadel/kill x renforcements/....

I don't see why they opted for the system we have.

I personally like the award system, it ensures there is a set amount of favor points in a given game.

Interesting, i wasn't seeing things like that. Still, if you want to have a set amount of favor points per game, distributing points via the ratios of kills/deaths/..... would be a better implementation imo.

If you see the game isn't going anywhere, just press shift-enter, say "GG. I concede" and quit. Wait for v1.1 for a Concede button. Don't get to the point where you feel like you're wasting your time...

OR...

Tell the opposing team to "finish it quickly".

I think the award system should be seperate for each team, so one person from Light and one person from Dark can get the structures award etc, this might encourage people to stay and play well.

agreed... then to make it so that winning side gets 2X the favor so its still benifical for thw inners.

Personly the favor setup is pointless.  I lost a game today and got the most favor points, 90. So a lose does not = no points.

Reguardeless of that, the points are worthless.  It doesnt take long to buy the few items you are likely to use.  I never even paid attention to favor because it didnt take long to get it.

To me there should be a stats setup like the one in BF2142.  Its easier to view and track stats the waythey do it.  Also they have a points sytem to unlock equipment.  So instead of saving for one large puchas, you get say 1 item after 100 points, another at 500, another at 1k, another at 2k and on up.  BUT you dont choose the item, they get unlocked in order of strength.

Or give us something else to do wit hte favor we have built up.
