I can connect to the host, but not to other players

I digital downloaded the game yesturday, I've been having trouble with multiplayer. When I attempt to join a game, the connection dialoge shows I've connected to the host, but not the players. It keeps saying: Waiting to connect to (player name)

I have ports forwarded, firewalls off, proxied the shortcut.

Is there anything else I am missing?

I just moved house, and having the same issue now, I am currently pointing the blame at the router for this, I dont believe it is fowarding the UDP ports correctly. Going to try a different router and see what happens.
