Game Crash: Only when game has previously been played.

I'm having an issue that occurs after the following pattern.

1. Load Demigod, play any number of matches(single player and multiplayer i think).

2. Finish playing and exit the game.

3. Wait for some time, perform other tasks using computer etc.

4. Load Demigod.

5. Reach game setup screen.

6. A few second pass (during this time I can make character selections, map selections or do nothing at all, the outcome is always the same).

7. Crash to desktop.

Anyone having the same issue?

Is this a known issue?

Any fix?

Require any more information?
