Problems connecting/always disconnecting to everybody

Virgin Media ISP problems?

Hi, since I bought Demigod I'm having quite a lot of problems playing online. I've shut down my firewall, disabled anti virus, forwarded ports 6100-6200 but regardless of any update I still have problems connecting.

First of all I'm using the /serverproxyonly command line but I usually get connected to only a few people by proxy. I thought if I'd use this command I'd get proxied to anyone.

Regardless of that I'm able to play a game every now end then but usually I get disconnected from everyone else. When trying to play Pantheon games (today) I got connected very quickly (every time it connects quickly but shows 1 player as not connected to anybody else until I am connected to the other 2 players) only to hear the "a player has left the game" before the game started and to play against bots (so I assume I disconnected from everybody else). On other occasions I'm able to play for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes until I get disconnected again.

Trying to get into custom games seems to be harder than before. Before the proxies I had more problems connecting to EU games but US east games went relatively well. If I manage to get into a custom game I loose connection quite fast again.

I still have to try connecting the PC directly to the modem but will wait until my flatmate isn't at home (he's playing WoW quite often, so this might be another problem).

I'm still wondering if the problem might have anything to do with my ISP (Virgin Media UK, cable 20mbit), I've read quite a lot reports of people having problems playing WoW (mostly Virgin customers) and we did have problems with packet loss every now and then (which might be related the great idea of providing 50 mbit without having the proper infrastructure. So I'd be interested if there are any virgin customers having similar problems.

I believe they disabled the /serverproxyold command

Also open port 6073.

Hi, I forwarded Port 6073 as well (portforward program shows all ports as open when firewall is disabled). The serverproxyonly prorgam has been enabled again with the last patch (I nevery connected to every player by proxy even after they released the program). When not being able to connect in custom games the logs do show other ports quite often though (usually 2000 something and 30000 something).

Internet speed is at the momen 19mbit/0.7mbit, at other times I get something between 12 and 15 mbit down and around 0.5 mbit up, so bandwith is not really the problem.

Thing is that I am able to intiallly connect to people quite often and since Pantheon started having only 2 vs 2 games I connect faster than before to all players (with 1 player always showing up as not connected to anyone until everybody else has connected. Suddenly he will show up as connected and the game starts). I seem to loose connection usually before the game starts or 1 or 2 minutes after it started.

Virgin Media does use traffic shaping but they say it only kicks in after a certain amount has been downloaded (3 or 5 gig in certain period I think, that's what they say. Tomorrow I'll try a direct connection to the modem without the router and at the moment I'm upgrading my network cards drivers.

If it's a problem with the ISP though, there probably is nothing I can do except for waiting for another patch and hoping.
