Hi guys, I've been looking at this game for a few days now and wanna buy it this weekend, looks awesome.
I am aware that there are a few updates available, where can I download these?
Another thing, to be able to play multiplayer online, what would be the recommend line speed? Will 512 ADSL line be fine?

Not sure about the connection.
But once you own the game you patch it through impulse. Open impulse it'll check for an update. Click the update tab, click install all updates and you're good to go.
Impulse manages all the updates for you (and by the way, Demigod is cheaper on Impulse and since it is Stardock's dl platform, more money go to the devs pockets if you buy the game this way)
Your upload speed may be a little too slow to play 5vs5, but you should be able to play 1vs1,2vs2, 3vs3 fine.
You download updates via Impulse (you know, the steam-alike platform); it's quite smooth.
512kb upstream or downstream? What's most important is the upstream, as you can always be sure that the upstream at the very least matches the downstream. 512kb up should indeed suffice. Many ISP:s only advertize the downstream. If unsure, have a look over at http://speedtest.net/

Another thing, I'm located in Cape Town South Africa.
Are there only one server available, or do I have the option to connect to servers closer to my location?
The game is peer-to-peer, so the latecy you experience will depend on both your connection speed and your distance to those you play with/against.
