Contest: Do You Need Multiplicity?

If so, lets see those desktops

http://www.multiplicity.net

Do you need Multiplicity?  The answer for me is a big yes, simply because I have several PC’s on my desktop and controlling them from one keyboard and mouse has become a necessity.  Every once and a while we have forum posts where people show off their desks, and I have to say, I think many of you could benefit from Multiplicity.

So here’s what you need to do.  Take a picture of your desktop at home or at work, post it here, and tell us why you need Multiplicity and how it could benefit you.  That picture should really emphasize your need for help, meaning lets see those big and messy setups.

Some members of the Stardock crew will pick the one who looks like they need it the most, and that person will get a digital copy of Multiplicity!  You have until this Friday, May 22nd to get that picture in.  Just post in this thread and we will announce the winner next week.

Oh hell yeah....
I need MP, and use it - that is, when it can connect to the other machine ;)

I use it between my Vista and XP boxes, mainly for moderating skin. :)

(Never mind the mess on the desktop)

I have an ersatz machine that sometimes works when it isn't hangin' up at the the local BK and another at the local library that's slower than walking to work in snowshoes up hill both ways and a third at KMart where you're lucky the printer works 7 out of 7 days. Do I qualify?

Don't say yeah 'cause I'll really have a coronary:rofl:

What I could really use is the opposite of Multiplicity -- something that allows me to use more than one keyboard on one machine. With arthritic wrists, elbows, and shoulders, being able to add another numeric keyboard I could program as shortcut keys would be great!

End of pmulcahy11b's quote

Just add more USB keyboards. :)
One time I had three keyboards hooked to the same machine. (For gaming with the kids)

i dont know how to get the images uploaded, but i have 6 computers in a row and 3 laptops here i use every day.... multiplicity would make my life so much easier then constanly sliding back and forth or getting up and moving.... and would make my wife much happier that im not ruining carpet or cracking tiles with my chairs.

Did you say "big and messy" :SURPRISED: Yes, this really is my office. At least two always on, a second laptop most of the time, and a second desktop on my test/setup bench when I've got a project. In my defense, my labs are pristine. Anyways, a little central control would sure "help"! ...got a maid you can digitize to me?

I just graduated from Western Michigan University, and well I don't really have any stable work right now. So I get by doing graphics work (2d/3d), making assets in Secondlife, and working on some production pieces at WMU as a motion capture artist..for severely reduced pay of course. (assistantship heh.)

About my work area: I managed to snag an intuous 4 at the education discount as a graduation present, it's probably the coolest piece of hardware I own. Also, I guess you can see I have 3 monitors between the 2 computers. Some say it's overkill, but I find it extremely useful for graphics work. Saving money and watching out for deals on NewEgg and TigerDirect has let me create an amazing work area. Took about 4 years of restricting game purchases and keeping down expenses. Anyways I'd love to use multiplicity. Right now I use one computer for graphics work/gaming and the other for SSH(putty), IRC, AIM, E-Mail. Copy/Paste between the two computers with file transfer ability would be amazingly useful. I've been using foxmarks to sync up the bookmarks between them so far and even that has been great.
