Demigod kicking me off the internet (kind of)

Ok.  So since that 2nd to last update, I've had actually have demigod knock me off of the internet.  I'd be playing a multiplayer game and then suddenly drop (all humans but me replaced by ai).  After whining for a moment, I'd finish my game.  At end game screen, I'd lag out (couldn't do anything to exit) for about 45 seconds, then I'd be able to exit.  Well, today I noticed things in a different order... and let me add that most games, I don't have any issues connecting and I'm forwarding the correct ports to a static ip, etc.  I played at game ok to completion.  Exited demigod for 5 minutes, then came back and tried to load www.joystiq.com, which lagged out.  I tried a few other sites... no luck.  I tried a digg add in for internet explorer 8 and that returned results for me, so I figured, maybe something up with other sites... anyway, I relaunch demigod, am able to join a 2v2 skimish (was epic, btw), and am disconnected shortly after my team gets the upper hand.  Anyway, whatever is happening, it started 2 versions ago.  It impacts my ability to connect to various internet sites.  I can easily "fix" the problem by restarting my pc (no router/cable modem reboot required)... I do that and I'm back up and running.  10-15% of my games end this way.  I'm on windows vista 32 bit.

I started having the same problem as of today. Booted off, internet completely dies and a router and/or modem reset doesn't help. Can't even connect to the router - have to restart and then it works fine again.

Noted - fyi... Windows reboot seems to resolve this... any techies have an explanation why?

And dito for me, I am unable to connect to my router 192.168.1.1 until I reboot.

next time it happens, try opening a command prompt and typing ipconfig /renew and see if that "fixes the internet" without having to reboot.

/renew doesn't work for this..  at least for me.  Tried it a few times last night and the ip never resolves.

Rebooting the computer fixes the problem though (and for me it is all network connections - I can't do anything online until I reboot).  I first started doing modem/router reboots but found that a windows restart is all that is needed.  Still - it didn't start happening until the 2nd most recent update.

There are a few posts going on this already.
