Problem with the 'concede' option being discussed

If it's left up to a majority vote, and you do not agree with the majority and still think the game winnable or would like to battle it out anyways you would get the shaft.

I mentioned yesterday a game that I thought would be impossible at one pointto win:

http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352448

but I didn't quit and fought it out and had an epic comeback.  If the game adds a concede function such comebacks with never happen again.

At the very least I think if a person dissents from the majority that votes to quit they should not have the 'loss' show up on their record.

I appreciate what you are saying and yeah, I had a game go that way yesterday.  None the less, I can't think of a better approach than what has been offered up.  If the majority of my team wants to call it quits, then I'll just have to accept that.

You're assuming people are going to use the concede function a lot... I only rarely concede games in general, and in demigod, I don't think I'd concede ever.

Trying to fight off a horde of incoming creeps while dodging demigods that are higher level and/or decked out in better gear is good skills practice and fairly entertaining.

The people who are going to use the concede function are the ones that will currently quit when they're losing.  If they implement it so that conceding makes your DG disappear rather than being taken over by AI, then maybe you'll be able to fight on after your allies have left after all.

The alternative is that your teammates quit and you're left on your own. I highly doubt you could make a comeback from there.

No, I still like the idea of punishing someone for quiting, just don't punish the other person because the random team they were put on decided not to even try to win the moment things start looking 'hard'.

Unfortunately I really can't see how you can have it that way, either your 2 teammates concede, or if they don't have that option they will quit. I'm not saying I think that's the right thing for them to do, but it's going to happen and you're not going to have any choice in the matter. Your opponents likewise aren't going to get to choose whether they get to keep playing or not.

I hardely ever leave games. Even in a 2 vs 1 game of Dominate where I know I am most likely going to lose. Today however I left a few games, after I knew I was completely dead.

But I usually stick it out....today however I was not in a good mood to sart and dying constantly was not my idea of fun so I decided to ease the pain on myself and leave.

I hope you apologised to the other team before you left, it's the polite thing to do

You know, they could make it if people left, the people who remained and stayed until the end of the game split the leaver's favor.

I was wondering why my concede would never work. I was stuck in games back to back wiith Nikolay88 who seemed to just intentionally feed the enemy every game & had a large portions of his games against the same person, Nacer i think the name. When I get games with them I just concede cuz I know it's rigged. Would be nice if it would just replace me with an AI immediately so I can get in a real game with random players instead of connection checking queue droppers.

Conceding is not based on majority vote.

My post from another thread:

If a person leaves the game it automatically adds a vote to concede for that player, so you will get the message that the leaver is requesting a concede (even though they quit, not conceded).

All players on a team must click concede to end the game. AIs are not counted.

If you are the last person to hit concede you should not see the "player has requested to concede" message.

If all players on one team quit that team automatically concedes and the game ends.

I had a game last night where we were getting owned.. literally.  12 kills to 3.  I was about to concede, but we used the citadel and overtook them.  It was a damn good experience.

after looking at his stats I see what you mean. one of those client side bots to play the game for you or something.
