I want to play - But nothings working?

Hey,

This is my SOS thred about wanting to play.

First I want to say I love Demigod, One of the most fun games i've ever played, but I seem to have hit every possible connection problem reported. So this is my call for some help, I'm really stuck.

I have a Netgear WGT624 wireless router. Which I have port forwared and done all the other things mentioned that would solve the problem.

Only though nothing seems to be working, since buying the game about one week after release ive played about 5-7 games. I try every night to fix the issue but nothing will work.

So I am calling to anybody who may be able to help with my certain sistuation. Or find out if anybody is also having this problem of nothing working.

My current issue is I will enter a lobby after connecting to the host and I will then instanly join with maybe one of two other players but then I become stuck with people I can't join forcing me to leave so the others may play.

I am also located in Australia if that makes a difference. Though the same issues arise with Australian hosted games.

If there is anybody out there with a helpful answer please please reply, I really want to play some more games, like I said eariler Demigod is sickly fun!

If there is already a similar thred I am also sorry I couldn't find it.

Cheers

~Flizzy

Its a strange thing. I am in the same boat, there are just some people i can't connect to. You would think an Aussie could connect to another Aussie with an Australian host.

The problem is if you are there first, they can't get into the lobby,if you leave and come back they are in and you can't connect??? .... even though you or him can connect to the same players in the lobby.

I am just waiting until the magic 1.1 patch that will fix all of this (i hope). At the moment i am trying to be selective of the games i go into.

and sorry to silk ... for all the times you could not get into that game :| .

I can't offer a solution to your specific problem but hopefully my experiences can give you some insight or atleast some ideas to try out.

1. I usually play online with my brother behind the same NAT and we have to take port forwarding off the router when playing together because only the person who has the ports forwarded to their machine can connect to other players.

2. I also have a Netgear router (forgot the model) and it comes with an option called Port Triggering that is mutually exclusive with Port Forwarding. After setting this up, both my brother and I have had more success connecting when playing either together or by ourselves online.

3. Just last night I was having some data corruption issues on my entire PC (looks like HD is gonna give up soon. Backups, backups!) and Demigod kept crashing a lot (which it never used to). I uninstalled Demigod, freed up some space on my drive (even though I had ample amounts before this) and did a full defrag. I then redownloaded and installed the game from Impulse, which came preset with all of the patches up to now and tried joining a lobby before calling it a night. I didn't play since my intention was to test the connection but in under ~10 seconds I was in the lobby and connected to the other 4 players (they were trying to setup a 3v3). Dunno if that was a fluke but I will do some more tests today. Can't right now since I'm working this weekend >:(

I think you could get some help if you could point out exactly what problem your experiencing at the moment? (Error messages etc.)
