Dirty Sanchez 2nd Map Pack Released

I am pleased to announce the release of my second custom map pack for Sins v1.16 and Entrenchment v1.02 (which should, hopefully, work with the next patch).

I'd like to thank everyone in the online multiplayer community who has supported my efforts and promoted and hosted my maps.  I know that it takes effort to add custom maps to this game and that it takes patience to wait for custom map games to fill while other people download and install them.  I appreciate your efforts, and your support has encouraged me to make one new map and to significantly improve and revise some of the others.  I really do love Sins of a Solar Empir and I am gratified that people are playing and enjoying my maps and that I have made a contribution towards improving the game.

This map pack contains:

Brilliant Diamond:

Diamond 4v4 near (all four allies are together with two having one-sided flanks)

Diamond 4v4 far (allies are split into two groups of two with each flanking an ally and one opponent)

Diamond 2v2v2v2

Red Crush v2 5v5 -- a significantly improved version of the original Red Crush that now has neutral extractors.

Ring of Risk v2 3v3 -- an improved version of the original Ring of Risk containing two extra neutral extractor gravity wells and one less bottleneck on each side of the ring.

Asteroid Belt Maps:

Asteroid Belt 3v3 neutrals (like the original but with more neutral extractors)

Asteroid Belt 4v4

Asteroid Belt 5v5

A compliation of both map packs is at:

I'm not sure why, but my first one was deleted from Filefront, so I made a single .Zip file with all of the maps from both packs.

Thank you for the support, guys.  I appreciate it.  I wish I could come online more often, but I work the night shift and I also spend time with a career development project on my nights off.  At some point, maybe I'll put together a new thread complete with rehashes/reposts of the installation instructions.  It would be nice if we could get it stickied since it would explain how to find the Application Data folder.

Yeah that one topic where you explained how to install maps needs to be stickied. You should PM Kryo or a Moderator about sticky that topic.

Oh and btw, Ive got a few maps Ive been tempted to introduce into the MP community. They are part of the DS mod but I thought they might be fun maps or maybe competition grade with a bit tweaking. I be happy to send them your way Centurion, if you wouldnt mind taking a look at them and tell me your thoughts I be ever in your debt sir! I still say we should email Blair with the Impulse idea we talked about.

DLed and ready  to play.  These will be great for pug matches.  I'm tired of getting poor map starts...some continuity would be great over the random maps...

Perhaps Red Crush 1 and 2 or the 5v5 version of Asteroid Belt would work well for pugs (or the 4v4 Asteroid belt and one of the Brilliant Diamond maps for 4v4).  Thing is, you'd have to be patient while the other people go to download and add them to the game, which will require finding that pesky Application Data folder.  However, since the 5v5 pugs that are set up in prime time seem to fill rapidly and half the people who play them might already have the maps, those who don't have them will probably go get them if they're pointed in the right direction.  I wish I were available at thoe times.

BTW, you can find all of the maps--both the first and second pack--compiled into a single file here:

For some reason FileFront dropped the first pack; I'm not sure why.
