i think you should be able to create your own demigod, i think that would be a fun feature in the game, like many parts, looks, appearances, abilities, and just let players go hog wild with it, and every so often add more stuff for each thing.
it'd be fun, and we would be unlikely to be using the same demigod.
Well it's kinda pointless without the abilities... and with the abilities, it's clearly broken. Also, any such generation system would have to limit you to veeery boring abilities with only a few, repetitive animations and effects.
I think it would be cool if there was a scriptable interface for creating custom demigods. People could submit their demigods for approval to be included in the actual game. Creation of the demigods would require 3d modeling, texturing, graphics and programming skills so not everyone would do it... but it would open it up to the community for development.

But games like these need time for devs to do balancing... it's really the most critical factor in making the game fun. IMO, if devs were planning on adding A LOT of demigods to the roster, it would be cool to provide the community with the same tools (or watered down versions) that the devs use to create the demigods. Have a community competetion, narrow it down by originality/support/feasibility and then let the community cast their vote.
Don't ask for a mile or ya won't get an inch
