I awoke this morning to the TV news carrying a video of a US Soldier shooting what is reported as a wounded Iraqi. As I watched the video I thought to myself how do they know he is an Iraqi and not one of the thousands of foriegn insurgants? And how do they know he is not boobytrapped or has a gun tucked into his shirt or under him and is waiting to get the Americans close enough to kill them? Then it dawned on me they know because the soldier killed the enemy before he could have done those things. The reporter is able to write and report on this because the soldier did what he did. Only after making sure he was dead were they able to tell these things.
Here is how it was reported :
NEW YORK -- A U.S. Marine shot and killed a wounded prisoner in a Fallujah mosque, according to a television pool report broadcast Monday. A Marine spokesman said the shooting was being investigated. NBC's pool video recorded some Marines returning to a mosque Saturday they had stormed the day before. The tape appears to show a Marine raising his rifle toward some wounded prisoners the Marines had left behind Friday. A Marine can be heard yelling that one man was only pretending to be dead. The video is then blacked out, but gunfire can be heard. Correspondent Kevin Sites said in a written report that four of the previously wounded prisoners had been shot again and one was dead.
What classifies this person as a prisoner? Maybe they should have taken a knife and slowly cut the head off the COMBATANT and then showed that video on the Iraqi TV. WHAT would the Iraqies think of us then? Maybe they would hate us more? Why then do they not hate those that were doing it to Americans and others?
Here is my take on this and if you don't like it, I could give a rats ass. That soldier is in a theater of war, the enemy has used tactics like waving white flags and drawing troops in closer before shooting and wounding them. They have acted wounded and drawn in troops and opened fire on them. So being afraid and protecting himself and others he shoots and kills a enemy. (I dont say wounded because I can not see in the video that he is wounded) That is WAR people and quite frankly the enemy has used far worse tactics on us. Its about time that the enemy realizes that they are not free to do these things and not pat for it. ITS ABOUT TIME WE STARTED FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE! I am tired of the press, take them out of the theater, only in todays world do you find press assigned to troops that go into active fire fights. Kick their butts out of the area and take the fight to the enemy. If they fake injury and draw you in kill them, if they wave a white flag and then shoot at you, kill them.
In fact I have an idea for a new shirt I think I will market, "Shoot them all and let Allah sort them out!!"

NBC reported that the Marine seen shooting the wounded Iraqi had himself been shot in the face the day before, but quickly returned to duty. OK so what would you do?
