I'm trying to play with my friend, but when I host a game he can't find it on the custom games list and when he hosts a game I can't find his. Am I just missing something really simple here?
I was just talking to him and it also seems that we don't even see the same list of custom games. I can't see games he sees and vise versa.
You probably have different versions of the game. Has one of you downloaded the beta patches, and the other hasn't? People with the beta patches can only play with people who have the same version, and people without the beta patches can only play with people who don't. If you go to Impulse, click the Impulse Orb in the upper-left hand corner, and selected "Show pre-release versions, you can download the beta patches.
I don't think thats it. We both just got it and neither of us has beta patched.
Might not be, the way to check for sure would be to make sure your version numbers are the same, they display in the lower-right corner of the main screen in Demigod.
