Concerning General's Store-bought Minions

Problem: Feels lame to have only 6 of them, and, at this point, only the noobs buy the melee minotaur types.

Impact: minor.  Just astetics, really.  But, in true debate fashion, if this issue is not fixed, the whole world will end in nuke war.

Resolution:  Increase the number of units aquired substantially (imo, 2priests, 3cannoneers, 5minotaurs would make me a happy panda), as well as increase the usefulness of the melee Minotaur melee troops (lolcleave maybe?).

P.S Adding more astetics to differentiate a rank 1 priest and a rank 4 priest, besides a minor resize, would be pretty tight in my eyes.

I would be happy with just getting more minions per rank so you get the same number of minions as the rank of the token. It would make the rank 1 token less useful so I'd lower the cost on that rank and maybe increase the cost for rank 3 and 4.

And I'd really REALLY like it if the minotaurs didnt suck.  They need a serious buff.  I'd start with doubling their health and damage and see how that felt.. They just feel like a complete waste right now.

They are a complete waste, but you don't really want them to be TOO good.  Afterall, the balance would come into question when a general can manhandle a lane if they are not constantly held in combat by another demigod.  However, 1/2 their current overall stats and give 6 per summon, and i'd call it square. (Remember folks, thats a net gain of 1/2, causing their net stats  to be multiplied by 150%)

I love using minions and do so when I can, but yes minotaurs suck. I love swarming enemies into oblivion becuase they assume all minions suck. I would like to see some change to minotaurs also and perhaps more minions thrown into the mix for added variety. Along with minions perhaps some better path management so they dont get stuck on a very easy to navigate corner or other minions! Overall, glad to see I am not the only person who actually uses minions, although questionable as it may be.

I find Rook towers to be more reliable and effective than Minotaurs, and he's a mere assassin. Plus they offer alot of diversity when it comes to placement and use wheather it is healing, damage, whatever. I find them much more useful for healing than priests.

Cool story, bro.

So you are suggesting, what? Replace minions with deployable towers?  Thanks for your 2 cents, if you can call it that.

Hmm, no that's not what I am suggesting. By pointing out the quality of towers compared to the lack of quality for General Minions I was making the point that perhaps Rook is unintentionally the best General, and he's just an assassin..

Melee Minions need activateable abilities.

Or something.  Anything.

I personally do not agree with activate-able abilities for minions. It would make idol usage largely a unit micromanagement fiesta. I'd rather there be more minions with passive, distinct abilities and no higher tiers of the same minion type.

I'll go with the "Or something. Anything." in your post. :)

I, for one, found the minotaurs mildly useful in tanking tower damage when I eventually start heavy pushing with my minion-centric Queen of Thorns. This doesn't always work though, since the towers don't always target them, but this is solvable by having the minotaurs go into the tower range first. They would eventually run in to melee the tower with the tower itself continuing to zap them, drawing the tower's splash damage away from all my other minions and my Demigod, which are all ranged.
