ObjectDock Loading twice

Good Evening,

I have been using Objectdock for a while and recently i have re installed Vista 32. Now everytime i log on to my machine 2 objectdock instances are loaded. The icons on objectdock are also really pixalated, at random sometimes it will be the recycle bin, C drive and my computer othertimes it will be a completly seperate set of icons.

I have seen this problem on the forums over the time but i have tried every set of instruction i can find and still have the problem. Things i have tried are:

Uninstalled, run cleaner and reinstalled.

Removed one of the startup items from Msconfig (removes both for some reason)

Unticked 'run at startup' in properties and copied object dock item to startup folder

Manually entered the string in the run under regedit

Uninstalled Objectdock, removed hidden folder under users etc..

Stored icons on the local C drive, installed object dock to C Drive

Done the above but on the D Drive

Shouting and the PC screen

Its a shame, objectdock is a fantastic idea for tidy desktops, please help me fix it up.

I have had this issue with some apps at times, I now use WinPatrol to add apps to start up list. It will create a proper reg key for the apps you add to run at start. Just make sure you uncheck run at start in ObjectDock.

Thanks for the re posts, Cavan1 i just tried that programme and when i tried disabling one of the objectdock items it disabled both. I also have this problem with a small program called Mediatray. But that does not mess up anything.

Email sent to support, once hopefully mine has been fixed, i will post back with any help or solution, if i am allowed.

This occurs when you move/alter startup folder in the start menu directory, this problem happened to me when I moved the startup folder in my profile to the AllUsers profile (I keep all start menu shortcuts there), apearantly Windows Vista monitors these folders so when I moved the folder it automatically changed it's path in the registry, so when you enable the "Run at startup" option it creates two shortcuts.

I fixed it by editing the paths in regedit.

I am having the same problem only I am using ObjectDock Plus but on XP.  I also keep my start menu items in the All Users folder.  I have tried most of the troubleshooting items you tried.  In addition to this the checkbox in the dock properties won't stay checked (but it loads twice anyways).  Baffled..

I cav't find any items in my registry for the objectdock startup.  I am new to editing the registry and might not be looking in the right spot.

Thanks

Hi All,

This problem seemed to go away for me, but after reinstalling my pc it came back again. I have just checked for generall vista problems and found my answer. Warning - i do not accept any responsabillity for damage to your machine use at your own risk.

Always back up the registery before tinkering
