Australian 4v4 / 5v5 ?

Any of you aussies out there actually played an ONLINE 4v4 or 5v5? The most I have ever played is a 3v3 and would _absolutely kill_ to get some 4v4/5v5's happening.

Nightly scenario is usually for some weird reason being stuck at 5/6 ingame for a 3v3, waiting around for on average over 30 minutes for the 6th to get in. i have absolutely no idea why it always gets to 5/6 before we start really getting owned by yellow ping joiners. When we get the magic 6th, bam, we're away. Had a great, intense, lag free game last night - though only could get one game in for the whole night - when we tried a second game...well it was getting late and was already shaping up to be painful as hell getting people INTO the game.

I've tried a few times once we had 6 people to open slots and try and get a few more in but the connection issues rear their ugly head and it's never once eventuated. I don't personally play pantheon as the average HUMANS present is usually around 2 + me.

I am hoping these proxies going in might allow us some pain free lobby action where we can get some larger games going. This game is great ...IF you can play it.

me too, hoping the proxies are going to be able to connect me to custom games! otherwise, there is not hope for me :(, since i have done everything possible with port forwarding etc..

The thing that gets me is - for the past few nights ive specifically hooked up with 2 other friends to get some games going. Now that's 3 of 6 - it's just getting the other 3.....

At this stage I cant even consider 4v4 or 5v5. There are player numbers out there - less aussies than i would like for the moment but given its not out retail that's not overly unexpected -

But even with 2 friends, WE cant often randomly connect into each others games. All 3 of us are cluey when it comes to Natting and port forwarding, yet we still randomly cant get in.

I think the most common scenario is i will put up a game and they will try and join. 1 will usually get in straight away, the next will often get - as we like to call it 'cock-blocked' by someone else joining. I suspect europeans are the cause too funnily enough. Americans are perfectly playable with us, being in the mid-200's, but Europeans on average ping over 400ms. I suspect they're entering the 'game join phase' and then boosting the overall latency of the overall nat negotiatons and that's when people are getting stuck and unable to get in or getting in with a yellow ping.

Usual solution is to simply recreate the game, hope the aussies get in first and/or keep rinse and repeating this process until magically you have 6 people. This is why 4v4's and 5v5s are basically a mythical fable right now, there is NO chance in hell of getting 8 or 10 people into one game with these kind of connection issues going on.

Despite that, i live in hope. I reckon this game would absolutely rock 5v5.

has the game been released in Australia yet?  I'd probably expect numbers to increase a bit after that happens, also once stardock starts pushing it a little harder

Not in stores yet but the main issue atm isnt player numbers(well it is to a smaller degree), it's the connectivity issues. Hopefully the proxies will fix them, but time will tell. To date playing from here has been immensely frustrating.
