"The archive could not be restored"

Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right place to post my problem, caus I don't know if it's a problem with Impulse or with Demigod which I've donwloaded via Impulse.

Maybe I've just messed something up ...

What happend:

1. I've bought Demigod and installed Impulse

2. I created an account, started Impulse and saw Demigod right listed under "My Games"

3. I've clicked on the "Install" Button and Impulse downloaded the 1,88Gbyte

4. When the download finished nothing happend. And If I click on "Install" it only tries to donwload again!! :-(

Now I have noticed that there is a file called "Demigod1.00.070_05.05.2009.impulse" in the Impulse backup directory. And when I try to Restore the Archive in Impulse it only says "The archive could not be restored" :-(

Is there any way to use this file, so i don't have to download the game again? (I could try to donwload Demigod from the anywhere.impulse, but my dsl connection isn't very fast and it would take another 8-10hours).

Thank's a lot for your help!!

Ps.: My system is running on Windows Vista Business Edition (64Bit) ... maybe this could help

THX again

hey guys? this says stand alone offline version?

does that mean i cant play online once installed?

It just means that the Impulse Anywhere version can be installed without an internet connection on the machine you're installing it at.

I had the same issue.  I had downloaded it to an achive, and impulse was giving the "archive could not be restored" error.

However, for me, the fix was easier than downloading the 8 data files (at ~250 mb each).  I simply put the ~8.6mb "demigod installer" into the the same folder as the *.impulse file that my original "download and archive" operation had created.  I then ran the installer and after a few minutes worth of decompressing, it had installed just fine.

Hopefully this will save someone else the 3-8 hours required to download the game a 2nd time.

i had the exact same problem, except i tried to use the archive on a second pc so i didnt have to download twice (the first time i dl'd and installed worked fine) i made a thread about it a while ago but couldnt get a decent fix unfortunately, so im going to try and download it again on the 2nd pc in about a week (need to save for my download limit)
