Stardock policies regarding two players...

Me and my friend want to go half and half on the GalCiv ultimate package. Will stardock not allow us to play at the same time, or upload scores and stuff? Basically, will stardock be pissed at us for using the same copy on different computers?

going half and half is really no different than one of you buying it and copying it for the other.  It sharing software, which is not cool.

Just bumping to see if I can get an official answer or... something.

About sharing: so instead, neither of us buys it, and stardock gets nothing? :S

IIRC Stardock's TOS allows their games to be installed on more than one computer. In that regard you are fine. I would doubt though if that allows for two different persons to be using that feature.

I would call that exploiting Stardocks's good nature.

Both installations would be able to submit games to the MV, and be updated through Impulse.

I guess it comes down to your moral fibre if you would deny SD of the income from what would be two seperate users and should be two seperate registered copies.

Wouldn't the same account have to be used for both players, since the serial number can only be registered to a single account?

They sure would. There would be a master account that all MV games would have to be submitted by/to.

As long as they did not attempt to submit at the exact same time it should work.

Though whether or not this should be allowed at all is another question.

If you're roommates/housemates, it's iffy (we allow it for LAN games with our multiplayer titles, and allow it to be installed on multiple machines for the owner's own personal use in singleplayer) since you're planning to play simultaneously. If you don't live together though, you definitely must buy your own copies.
