Let allies see mana bars

Whenever I'm playing a shielding QoT and I'm attacking with someone, I have to type in that I'm low on mana so they know I can't shield them again.  Same thing for sedna or any other support hero.  Mana is an important piece of information that your allies really need to see.

EDIT:  Or maybe i can move it myself..

I liked the idea someone had to have your allies on the side of your screen so you could always see their health and mana.

I actually really like this idea.

I like this idea but not for the reason stated.

Tell me if im wrong - but the reason why you want your allies to know you have no mana is so they will stop yelling "heal" or "shield" at you. I don't think thats the right way to approach that. For starters the kind of personality thats going to yell such things isn't going to check your mana status before acting like the child in the toy store who is told by the parent they can't afford what they want.

That kind of thinking also plays into the philosophy that there are certain DG's that exist to serve the others. Its just not how this game is put together. While there are abilities that can help your allies and a skilled player will do so every DG is there to bash up things, get xp and gold. If you merely timidly follow somebody around supporting them your DG will not keep up.

Instead I think this idea is valid in instances of organisation - when organised games and clans really start to happen being able to tell one of your teammates to drop back and fill up on mana at the crystal could be very handy. There are also the odd couple of things in the game that allow you to boost an allies mana regeneration and being able to see somebody needs it greatly facilitates being able to work more effectively with them.

It's not so much in response to people yelling heal or shield(I haven't actually had this happen to me).  I wrote this post kind of late last night(if you click view edits you'll see I actually even put it in the wrong forum) so I don't really feel like I articulated the point very well.  Your points are all very valid.  I would also like to add that when you see your allies mana bars you can read whether or not your group is overextended.  This is the main reason I point out to allies that I'm low on mana.  They need to know that so they don't think it's time to go clobber that tower because there's two of us and it only has that one other dg headed out to defend it.  The shielding QoT is just a very clear example of why this information is vital, it's not that I view her or play her exclusively as a trail another dg support class(obviously she has some really good support properties, but it isn't as if she shouldn't be creeping, especially since she's nearly as good as TB at it).

We had this in the beta from a mod by Chirmaya, it was great.  If they hadn't disabled UI mods from working online, we would have this feature right now.

In competitive games, I generally play Sedna or TB. It is kinda annoying to have to take the time to point out the fact that you're out of mana and can't support as much as you would otherwise. Especially if you run out in the middle of a fight.

Yep, this and a dozen other ui changes should be made immediately.

*Wipes away a tear for the disabled UI mods* Well, if they ever re-enable them, I'll try my best to bring stuff like this and many other things to the table!
