Stardock Central keeps downloading and downloading...

Greetings,

I'm trying to figure out a problem here. I got the latest update for Stardock Central and went to download the 1.04 update for GalCiv. The download went to 100%, paused, and then started ticking up from there. Around 350% I quick the process and tried downloading the new manual. This time, I tried archiving the file, but it also whipped past 100% and beyond.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled Stardock, and then automatically updated the app. I tried downloading the update again, and it still went past 100%.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
John Wright

My download also went over 100%, but I think it was because of repeating packets being sent. I am no tech support guru, but I would guess that the connection to Stardock was so laggy that it kept resending the data over and over.

Gerakken,

Did your update finally complete successfully? I had a high throughput, and the files weren't too large to download.

Thanks,

It was eventually successful. If I remember correctly, the last file to come over was the galciv.exe, so that can be a marker on whether you are near the end or not. The install did stop totally once, but an error log came up and told me that it was because of too many retries on some files. I was able to resume at the interuption point, but it went into the 130% range. So I know for my case it was because of a bad connection to the server and packets being resent.
