registrations

sorry, second post for this, but is the registration page still down? I'm getting an WC error message but just thought I would check in again.

yes that did work, now do I impulse or not???

the address that is located on the tab is https://www.wincustomize.com/myaccount.aspx?reg I wonder what the difference actually is to cause it to go bump?

Forgive me....I didn't understand your meaning.

Impulse should list your registrations once you install it (make sure antivirus software and firewalls are off) and put in the email you ordered your SD software with. Don't forget to turn antivirals and firewalls back on when you're done downloading.

Seth, I've avoided impulse so far as it relies heavily on flash. I have posted many comments on this in the past. Now, with a new computer, if I decide to download those programs that I have paid for I will need impulse to do so. (although I haven't attempted to access these programs via stardock update which at last check did not require impulse)

So, I am at the fork in the road here with WC. do I continue and install impulse (along with jumping through the various hoops and other things) or not. there is also additional cost as my WB was free and now they are a charging for it.

problem is that I am working on a blind that I think looks pretty damn good. I have all of the xp elements skinned and thought I would finish up with vista to dazzle both worlds. see if my interest falls off or not.

I think it's time to go Impulse, my friend. You'll need it as a download and update utility...to be in irc, and frankly, what's the prob w/Flash? I understand about the programs...but I'm not understanding the Flash thing. I think they fived the Flash10 thing.

I like your work...and I run Vista...so...better get busy skinning that beauty for me, or I'll sic the Pyrates on yer. Arrrr!

purveyor of animated advertisements and (IMHO) an obnoxious add-on. butt hey, that's just me.

There really isn't any hoops to jump through by installing Impulse.  It's a pretty straightforward installation, and you will be able to access all updates and applications from there.

I have used Impulse from the very beginning and have experienced no problems with it at all. I have reinstalled all of my OD Ultimate apps and ObjectDock with it twice and I can't imagine how difficult it would have been without Impulse. I've also used it to repair a app or two that had small bugs through the verify installation/update feature.

It's well worth the time and effort(very little of either) to install and use it,imho.:)

ID, think this is a yoda moment for ya; having never installed impulse I would have not had an opportunity to encounter difficulties.

the hoops that I mention are things that I've complained about before. you all make changes that require us to make changes. some of those changes could be things that we don't want to change. but now I'm off XP and on Vista and even have flash enabled. out with the old, in with new, I say.

Oh, and I'll probably have to spend more money.

be nice to get these icons centered and a spellchecker too.

Impulse is free. Why would it cost you more money?

looks like windowblinds costs now, I had a free version. It also appears that skin studio requires windowblinds to be installed to work so even though sks has a free version...

WB has always been 'pay for' software, the price? Worth it.

worth is not a question, spending money is.

Seth, there are several WC programs that have a "free" aspect to them. skinstudio and cursor fx just to mention two. if you want the premium versions then you need to pony up. when I first got windowblinds there was no charge, now there is. not sniveling, just saying.

The 'free version' of WB was a very long time ago.  The amount of improvements, features, is probably too long to list.
