AGP card detected

I tried using Deskscapes on my other computer which runs XP SP3 and I got the message about AGP card detected. I have Nvidia GForce Card and when I went to device manager and updated the drivers it said that the drivers that were there were the best ones. I went to the link provided by stardock when I got the error from deskscapes and when I look there  there were no drivers for Nvidia. I had just reformatted that computer yesterday so the computer is fresh with nothing on it except windows and associated programs (I did all updates), Impulse, Windowblinds, and deskscapes. I haven't even loaded the software for my printer and stuff yet. Do I need to get a new video card? If so what would be the minimum ,CHEAPEST,video card that I could get. My husband is laid off and I am just on disibility.

I tried running Deskscapes on my XP Home SP3 32 bit system with low end nVidia card (GeForce 5200) and it just couldn't hack it.  The system has a P4 cpu and so it may not have had enough processing power to handle it.

In your siituation I would go back and take a look at would you really use Deskscape.  They are nice but I gave it up because I came to realize that I wouldn't use the function, as nice as they are.  In other words I have a desktop set up to be usable,  I have docks and widgets that I like, I was not going to move or lose them so I could look at an animated wallpaper.

I have since gotten a new computer with much better specs and Vista Home Preimum, and I still don't use Deskscapes.  I don't shut this one off, put it into sleep mode so I'm not using boot or logon skins either.  I do use a screen saver.

So reevalute if you really would use Deskscape, if the answer is yes than you might be in for some upgrading of your current system, might be better to look at a new computer if the money becomes available.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the programs and software that Stadock puts out.  It's just that I find that you make choices as to what you run.  If I were to give advise I would not get the 'cheapest' nor the most 'expensive' card when upgrading, get the best one you can afford within your budget.

I really do need to start to upgrade my desktop computer anyhow. I have kind of let it go since I got my laptop. My husband is the only one that uses it and my step son uses it sometimes when he comes over if I don't give up my laptop to him. So I figured since I would possibly need a new video card to run deskscapes I wouls start with the upgrade with that. Also I like to run screensvers sometimes but I can't anymore because I have the Majicjack phone and I have to always be connected to the internet which I don't have a problem with but when the screensaver kicks in the computer goes offline so that is kind of why I want seskscapes it an alternative to a screensaver.
