Install folder

Yes I know..

Ok so i bought my gf the game, and it told her her C:/ did not have enough space. Great. Googled, found the lightning bolt, changed the folder paths. Now it downloads, finishes, starts extracting, and tells her there is no space. There is space. Did the dev's do ANY testing for this pos game before release at all? Ive never had a more frustrating expereince.

To answer your last question, obviously the devs tested this game before they released it. That's why thousands of other people are not having the same issue your gf is. There will always be exceptions to the rule, black sheep, whatever. You are one of them.

To answer the question previous, I'm assuming you have run defrag on the C:\ and cleaned out what needs to be cleaned before attempting an installation? Shed some light on the details of what you have, what you did, and what you've done so far.

Obviously they didn't test it enough, theres far too many "black sheeps" with thousands of issues out there. I'm a developer, I know what goes into QA. I don't need a lecture on yoru opinion of what proper testing is. Fact is, almost every reviewer has pointed out the issues on this launch.

There is no more info than what I can give you. We've tried multiple things, the game WILL NOT install on the T:/ despite deleting every possible existance of impulse and starting it again, resetting the folder paths before trying. WHy do I need to defrag C:/ to install on another drive? That's illogical.

You have to have 3GB to install this on ANY HD, on your main HD or this will fail. Just a heads up to anyone. We got it working after clearing off 3 GB on the C:/ it installed, then moved the files to T:/. Makes no sense why they let you assign temp directories.

1) I'm not trying to lecture you, if stating the obvious offends you then I regret to bring up this second point:

2) Iirc, you never mentioned T:\ in your first post. This is kind of after the fact, yes, but Impulse always uses C:\ as a temp drive.

yes, but Impulse always uses C:\ as a temp drive.
End of quote

Not always. Temp folder path can be changed as well, in the same place as the install path.

Little more looking, little less complaining would've worked wonders for the guy.

I complain because I did my research and it didn't solve my problems. I did change the temp directories, it's not my fault you illiterate people cannot read (as I said "Googled, found the lightning bolt, changed the folder paths" ). To anyone having the same problem as I had, tough luck getting any help but freeing up that space on your main HDD.

Don't try to help people if you obviously have no idea wtf you're talking about, thanks.

To summarize for anyone that actually NEEDS help with this issue in the future:

If your main HDD is low on space, you must free up that space regardless apparently.

If you assign the folders to another HDD, it will put the installed game on the specified folder after all is downloaded and extracted.

Having your C drive (I'm assuming OS drive) that low on space at any time is idiocy in any case.........proper PC maintenance!  ;P

not really, 3 years ago, when you're on a budget and don't have access to SP2 because there is no computer in the house, you cannot make a large partition on a hard drive (without windows installed, or sp2+). But you can continue your narrow minded existance, while my girlfriend chooses not to reformat so her C:/ can be larger, thats why they invented multiple hard drives.
