questions about bribing races to go to war.

Hello, it seems like every time I bribe a couple of races to go to war, they never actively do it.  They don't launch ships, sometimes fleets fly right by each other without attacking.  What does it take to get races to actively fight each other?  To launch fleets and fly them to the others territory and really start attacking?  Am I missing something?

Thanks :)

Hi,

If you caused war among races, they actually are really fighting. Now it depends if they are at the same time in war with others, if so than the "new war" will not become a more important priority to them...Even worse, the new war will maybe slow down the AIs ability of concentration..

Sometimes you can see fleets fly by each other without attacking, because it seems they are following an order, which might not change so quickly (same like in the army on earth: orders are orders... :borg: )

There is no possibility to force one race to focus more on another. Besides, this could be a funny new "diplomatics" option, for example asking: "Dregins, I give you 500bcs but ask you to please kick Altarians' asses a little harder"

The good point is that during the time they are fighting, you can lay back and recover a little...

The main reason I bribe a race to go to war with another is that it has seemed to me that neither race will declare war on me while they remain at war with each other.  That is, I rarely see a race declare war on me while already in a war with another race.

In each of the few times that it has happened, I think I was at war with either their ally or with the race with the trait that helps them bring others to their aid.

BTW, one thing to do if you see empires declaring war on each other is to get constructors out to loiter very near their mining starbases.  In fact, I generally try to have constructors already built for that purpose and maybe already on their way or even on station before I send a war bribe.
